We drive by so many churches every day. Why start a new one? At The City of Hope, we're reimagining what it means to be the Church as we pursue authentic relationships with God, and each other.  

 

We see Church as… An IDENTITY not an activity. A PEOPLE, not a place. A MOVEMENT not a monument.  

 

The City of Hope is a family of small faith-communities committed to living out our purpose, as we experience the love of Jesus, live out the mission of Jesus, and demonstrate the Kingdom of Jesus where we live, work and play.  

 

So where will this new church meet? Wherever our faith-communities spring up! We will gather in living rooms, parks, barber shops, and wherever else the Gospel is welcomed and needed.  

 

We envision the local church as a spiritual family that shares meals, memories and Christ’s mission. The City of Hope is one big extended family that gathers in smaller faith-communities, called Houses of Hope, all across the city. Each House of Hope is a safe space where you can be known, loved, and discipled in the true ways of Jesus.  

 

Together, we are rediscovering Jesus’ love, power, and mission in true community. We are learning to BE the Church as we eat together, laugh together, pray together and dig through God's Word together. Christ's message and mission must remain, and yet our world is ever-changing. The City of Hope is a Fresh Expression of the Church, emerging to bring the hope and power of Jesus to our hurting world.
