Our Story

We are Ameerah and Emanuel Lewis, founders of The City of Hope Church. We are so happy you are here, and we don’t believe it’s by accident. Neither of us grew up in the Church. So, we both know what it’s like to live in darkness and to be rescued by Christ’s marvelous light. We have dedicated most of our lives to sharing that same Light with our world, and we want to share it with you too.

Ameerah’s ministry journey began over twenty years ago when she stood up to teach her first Sunday School class. The more she served, the more her passion for seeing lives transformed by God’s Word grew. Seven years ago, she accepted her calling to vocational ministry, was ordained and began serving as a staff pastor.

Together, we were an integral part of planting Life Changers Church in Fairfield, Ohio. We have both faithfully served in various facets of leadership there for over a decade. Emanuel has led the Men’s Ministry and served in an executive capacity as a Deacon and Church Board Member. Ameerah has served as the Senior Associate Pastor, Director of Christian Education and Small Groups Coordinator. We have preached together, taught small groups together, and we are excited to begin this new season of ministry together as well.

In his professional career, Emanuel currently serves as an Assistant Vice President, Sr. Learning Solutions and Technology Consultant for a major employer in the Greater Cincinnati area. He graduated from Xavier University in 2001 with a BSBA in Management Information Systems and in 2013 with his MBA from the University of Cincinnati. He is excited for the opportunity to use the gifts he’s been given to further God’s mission as the Business Manager here at the City of Hope.

Ameerah has earned a Masters in Divinity from Oral Roberts University and is a Licensed Minister with the Assemblies of God. She is a former high school teacher, but now devotes her time to teaching God’s transformational promises to His children. She is also an author, and the founder of The Hem of His Garment Online, a web ministry that brings the hope and healing power of God to thousands of people across the globe. She is excited to partner with God here at The City of Hope as our Pastor and senior leader.

We are both passionate about seeing people set free through the power of God’s Word, and His Holy Spirit. We believe in the local church and its power to change lives and impact communities. Through The City of Hope, we are going to unleash the transforming power of God's faith, hope, and love throughout our region. Will you join us?
